A life well-lived is measured not just in years, but in the love given, the lives touched, and the legacy left behind and Albert Lansberry Moore’s life was a remarkable example of all three.

Albert Lansberry Moore, a dedicated family man, respected community member, and longtime employee of Union Pacific Railroad, passed away on May 2, 2026, in North Platte, Nebraska.

Born on August 30, 1939, in Loup City, Nebraska, to Albert Sr. and Catherine, Albert lived a life marked by service, commitment, and a deep love for his family and friends. He was raised alongside his siblings, Mary Ellen, Vivian Jane, and Sharon Kay.

At the young age of 17, Albert served his country with honor in the United States Navy as a medic stationed in San Diego. His dedication to service became a defining part of who he was.

Albert later attended college in Kearney, where he studied psychology, an interest that reflected his thoughtful nature and his desire to understand and help others.

In 1967, Albert married Elvera Kuehn (Alfie) at Fredericksburg Lutheran Church in Minden, Nebraska. Together, they built a life grounded in love and family, living in Kearney and Grand Island before settling in North Platte in 1972, where they created a warm and welcoming home.

Albert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished his wife Alfie and took immense pride in his family: his daughter Molly Morales, her husband Hector, and their children Aleksandr (Kirsten) Morales and Hallei (Caylen) McNeff; his son Gerry Moore, his wife Teri, and their sons Luke and Logan. His great-grandchildren Asher and Andi McNeff, and Arturo Morales were truly the center of his world.

Family gatherings were filled with laughter, storytelling, and Albert’s signature jokes and one-liners, moments that perfectly captured his warm, engaging, and often ornery spirit.

Albert dedicated 35 years of his life to Union Pacific Railroad before retiring in 2002. Even in retirement, his work ethic remained strong as he started a maintenance company and cared for Taborwood Townhomes for many years. He was known by colleagues and friends not only for his dedication, but for his camaraderie and humor.

One of Albert’s proudest accomplishments was being a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 44 years. As a sponsor to many, he offered guidance, support, and hope, demonstrating a quiet strength and deep compassion that changed countless lives.

Visitation for Albert Lansberry Moore will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, 1616 W B Street, North Platte, Nebraska with family present. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 415 North Chestnut Street, North Platte. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. McPherson National Veterans Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska.

Albert’s life was one of service, love, and unwavering dedication. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who knew him.

Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will live on in our hearts forever.
