Annette Marie Chavis, lovingly known as Annie, passed away on October 10, 2026, in North Platte, Nebraska. She was born on September 19, 1941, in Elba, Nebraska, to Bruno and Gertrude Fredrick.

 Annette grew up in Elba, Nebraska. She graduated from Elba High School in 1959. She then married Franklin Roy, to this union two sons were born, Mitch and Chris.

 In 1971 Annette married Robert Chavis. The couple lived in Grand Island for several years and eventually moved to North Platte. Throughout her life she worked as a teachers aid at Madison Middle School and at Hoovers Jewelers. Annette was a devoted wife mom and aunt and grandmother. She was very close to her two nieces Cathy and Pam and her nephew David. Annie always made sure her house felt like home. 

Annette will be remembered with love by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Bob Chavis. She also leaves behind her son, Mitch Roy; her grandsons, Casey and Tyson Roy; and her great-grandsons, Jeremiah and Josiah Roy. The love of her family continues to stand as a lasting part of her memory, and her place within their lives will be cherished always.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Chris Roy; her brother, Ellard Fredrick; and her sister, Dorothy Lahners. Their memories remained a meaningful part of her life and are now joined with hers in lasting remembrance.

Funeral services for Annette will be held on October 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, 1616 W B St, North Platte, Nebraska. Burial will follow from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, 8100 S Dodge Hill Rd, North Platte, Nebraska.

Annette Marie Chavis will be remembered with affection, gratitude, and love by those who had the blessing of sharing in her life.
