Obituary

Ardyne Fay Allyn, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026 at Great Plains Hospital, in North Platte, Nebraska at the age of 85.

Ardyne was born February 27, 1941 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Opal Bieber and Dean Hayward. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1959. While working at the Manhattan Cafe, she met a young construction worker from Palmer, Nebraska. On October 27, 1959 she married Keith Allyn in Grand Island, Nebraska. In 1960 they welcomed their first child, Angie, and their second child in 1964 with the birth of son Lance. In 1972 the family moved to North Platte, Nebraska and settled north of town in the Hillcrest Estates neighborhood.

Ardyne is survived by her husband of 66 years, Keith, daughter Angie (Mitch) Miller of Omaha, Nebraska, and son Lance (Karen) Allyn of Santa Clarita, California. She is also survived by sister Billie (Kevin) Blaine of Havana, Florida; grandchildren Matt (Kathryn Masters) Miller of Omaha, Nebraska; Shaun Miller of Omaha, Nebraska; Jeremiah (Jessica) Houghton of Sacramento, California; Matthew (Kandice) Houghton of North Hollywood, California; Jesse Allyn of Valencia, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Opal Bieber, father Dean Hayward, stepfather Fred Bieber, brothers Dean Hayward and Donnie Bieber, brothers-in-law Neal Lynch and Clayton Meyer, and sisters-in-law Janice Lynch and Nancy Meyer.

Ardyne was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, loved Nebraska Husker football, and enjoyed spending time with her friends (in person and on the phone).

Book signing will be available June 8, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, North Platte. A memorial service will be held at Harvest Christian Church, North Platte on Tuesday June 9, 2026 at 11:30. Fellowship lunch will immediately follow. Interment will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Christian Church, Shriners, and Disabled American Veterans.
