Bernice M. Leadabrand, 82, of Ogallala, passed away Nov. 2, 2012 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. She was born May 16, 1930 to Louis and Anna (Viner) Cerny on the Cerny family ranch in Arthur County, NE. Bernice attended District 1 country school and graduated from Ogallala High School in 1948. On July 30, 1949, she was united in marriage to Charles W. ""Bill"" Leadabrand at Ogallala. They lived in Ogallala, where Bernice worked for TRW for 20 years and then at ASC Shizuki until retiring in 1995. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and sewing. She is survived by her son, Scott (Janet) Leadabrand of Ogallala; her daughter, Kathryn (Darrell) Snyder of North Platte; six grandchildren, Terri (Andy) Bruhn, Tina Clarke, Trent Snyder, John (Mary) Leadabrand, Stephen and Stuart Leadabrand; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Louis, Otto and Ernest; a sister, Tillie Jensen; and an infant great grandson, Steven. Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, November 5, 2012 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte. Burial will be at the Paxton Cemetery. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
