Beverly Ann Backus, age 37, passed away on December 23, 2025, in North Platte, Nebraska. She was born on November 8, 1988, in Houston, Texas.

Beverly was known for being smart, funny, and friendly, with an easy way of connecting with others. She enjoyed reading and writing and had a genuine love of learning. While attending schools in Texas, math was her favorite subject. She completed some college coursework, including studies in sociology, and was recently working toward continuing her education in medical billing.

She spent much of her working life in the hotel industry, where her warmth and reliability were appreciated.

Beverly was the birth mother of three children, each raised in adoptive placements. Later in life, she chose to settle in North Platte to be close to her youngest child, for whom she created an adoption plan and shared an open adoption with the family. Through this, she found a deep sense of belonging and connection.

Beverly is lovingly remembered by her chosen family: Matthew, Brooke, Hudson, and Silas Fosket, and Robert and Terry Tigner, who welcomed her with care, respect, and love, and held her as an important and valued part of their family.

Her two cats were also deeply important to her and brought her comfort and companionship.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Beverly at The Gathering Spot located at 1218 N. Ash Street, North Platte, NE. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
