Bradley Allan Phares, 60, of North Platte, NE passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the Madonna Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, NE.

Bradley was born on July 9, 1964 in Omaha, Nebraska. One-week later Bob and Margene Phares joyfully welcomed him into their family in North Platte where he became their first child. He was later joined by siblings, Brian and Amy. From the beginning, Brad was a curious, active, busy boy which definitely kept his parents & his guardian angel busy throughout his childhood! He attended schools in North Platte, where he enjoyed being involved in Scouts, gymnastics, swim team and youth group at First Baptist Church in North Platte. Brad served in the United States Coast Guard and held various jobs after his service. He was serving as a security guard at the Gerald Gentleman Station where he worked until he suffered a brain bleed seven years ago. Since then, he has lived in the Madonna Rehabilitation center in Lincoln, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carl and Mildred Phares and Myron and Mattie Rumery.

He is survived by his parents, Bob and Margene Phares, brother Brian Phares (Kathy), sister Amy Engel (Jay), nieces Jordan Brown (Mitchell) and Sarah Phares, nephews Jacob Engel (Joele), Adam Engel (Mercy) and Andrew Phares (Nikki) as well as three great nephews, August, Milo and Roman.

The family has chosen the Madonna Foundation, 5401 South Street, Lincoln, NE 68506 for any memorials to thank the incredible staff, therapists and nurses that cared for Brad.

Family burial at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte will be Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Services will follow at First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.  Visitation will be on Friday, November 8th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Online condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.carpentermemorial.com.
