Bryan James Halsted, Sr., 49, of North Platte, NE passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Great Plains Health Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 6, 1972 in North Platte, son of Ronald K. Halsted and Sharon A. (Summers) Halsted.

Bryan graduated from Grand Island High School in 1991 and attended WNCC in Sidney where he received his CDL and Heavy Equipment certification.  He was married in Sidney to Scarlett E. Truax.  He served part time in the NE National Guard and was an over the road truck driver for most of his career.  Bryan loved camping, fishing, playing pool and shuffleboard.  His brother Scott was a very important role model and rock in his life while growing up.  Bryan took great pleasure in beating his older brother in video games.  When Bryan had to leave his truck driving career due to health, he spent a great deal of time with his brother-in-law going to car shows, camping, fishing, watching Nebraska football, and they had planned to go to the Nebraska-land days concerts.  Both brother and brother-in-law have been very supportive during this time of sorrow.  He was always there in times of need and a great comfort for his family.  He cherished the time he spent with his kids and grandkids.

Those left to cherish Bryan's memory are his father and spouse, Ronald K. Halsted (Claudette) of North Platte; mother and spouse, Sharon A. Brandt (Randy) of North Platte; children, Samatha R. Halsted of North Platte, Emily K. Halsted of North Platte, Bryan J. Halsted, Jr. (fiancée, Shaylene) of Lincoln, Wyatt L. Halsted of North Platte, and Eric M. Halsted of Hershey; grandchildren, Averiejo, Benjamin and Scarlett; brother, Ronald Scott Halsted (Malinda) of North Platte; brother-in-law, Scott Truax of North Platte; niece, Johnna Richter (Zack); nephews, Kyle and Zachary Halsted; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Scarlett E. Halsted.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Anne Durboraw officiating.  The memorial book will be available to sign on Monday, June 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Private burial will follow on Monday, June 13, 2022 in the Sidney Cemetery.
