Obituary

Cassandra Ann Shafer Hedglin, resident of North Platte, formerly of Grand Island, passed away on the 24 th of June 2018 at Great Plains Health at the age of 48 years.  Cassie was born on the 1 st of May 1970 in Kearney Nebraska. She grew up the second oldest of six siblings. She attended school in Gibbon, and Grand Island. She married Laurence Hedglin and raised their children in Central City. She loved to help people, search for fairness in the world, collecting angels and crocheting. She was always up for a good laugh. Her life was dedicated to the care of her family.
She will be sadly missed by all, especially her family. She is survived by her children Michael and his wife Allison Shafer, Eric Hedglin, Laura and her husband Chris Quintin and Nicholas Hedglin. Parents Helen "Nickie" and her husband Thomas Whyte, and Richard and his wife Karla Shafer. She loved all her Grandchildren, Avianna Elizabeth Shafer, SavannahJo Mae Quintin, Tavian Isaiah Shafer, Victoria Rose Mae Quintin. Her siblings Michelle and her husband Tim Carter James and his wife Marie Shafer, Angel and her wife Lisa Cantu, John and his wife Nichole Shafer, and Amber and her husband Sam Mergele. She was the favorite aunt to Shelby, Richard, Alyssa, Gloria, Alex, Andy, Jacob, Titus, Kolbe, Kale, Seth, Elizabeth, Zeeva, Zada, and Zoey.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested in her memory to be designated at a later date. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com . A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m.  Friday, June 29 at the Moose Lodge, 1315 E. 4 th , North Platte. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in care of arrangements.
