Clifford V. Gordon, 78, of North Platte, NE died on January 27, 2021 at Great Plains Health. He was born on September 2, 1942 in Roscoe, NE to Alfred and Enola (Smith) Gordon.

He graduated high school in 1959 from Ogallala, NE. He married Marie (Hill) Gordon on February 1, 1964 and to this union 3 kids were born, Clifford, LaVerne and LaVonne.  He worked as a Locomotive Engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad for 31 years before retiring in 1999.

Clifford grew up in Roscoe, NE where he was the 9 ^th of 12 children where he had a very close relationship to his brother Darrell.

He loved his dogs, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going to his children's and grandchildren's activities. He was an avid volunteer where he delivered Meals On Wheels and building houses for Habitat For Humanity.

Clifford was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church where he was very active. He especially enjoyed the Bible Study group. Other memberships include a past member of the Eagles Club, Moose Club, Elks Club, the American Legion, a past President of the Junior Old Timers and Old Timers Clubs and a Board Member for the Union Pacific Credit Union.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; son, Clifford Gordon of North Platte, NE and his children, Amber, Kalen, Tanor, and Sydnee (Derek); son, LaVerne (Janet) of Lincoln, NE and their children, Emma (Matt), Tatem, Grace, and Maggie; daughter, LaVonne (Mike) of North Platte, NE and their children, Christian and Thomas; great grandchildren, Gabriella, Gracynn, Beckett, Gatlyn, and Greelynn; siblings, Evelyn Frosh of North Platte, NE, Darlene (Dale) Elder of Aurora, NE, Shirley (Ron) Ziegler of Ogallala, NE, JoAnn (Jerry) Perlinger of North Platte, NE, and Marliyn (Roger) Dahlkoetter of Roscoe, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clifford was preceded by his parents; sisters, Pauline Armknecht, Naomi Mailand, and Eileen Lindemuth; and brothers, John Gordon, Alfred Gordon and Darrell Gordon.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Deardoff officiating. The burial will follow at North Platte City Cemetery.  Visitation and Book signing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2021 with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the donor's choice of Legion Baseball, Beautiful Savior Youth Group, the Senior Center Meals on Wheels program or Habitat For Humanity.

Carpenter Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements. Services will be held following all current health directives regarding Covid-19 and masks are required.
