Connie Jo Bible, age 71 of North Platte, passed away August 3, 2016 at the University Medical Center in Omaha with her family at her side. She was born February 18, 1945 at McCook, NE to Ruth Jeffers and Joseph J. Epperson, Jr.
As a young girl, Connie worked in many of the McCook restaurants. This is where she met Ken, her husband of 53 years. They married in 1962 and over the years they lived in McCook, Lexington, Ogallala, and Cambridge before settling in North Platte for the last 27 years. She worked at TRW in Ogallala before joining her husband in various business ventures including 3 B&D Products, in Ogallala, KC Industries in Ogallala and Cambridge, Midwest ScreenPrint & Embroidery and Miss Connie's Connection in North Platte. Her last business venture was the realization of a lifelong dream to build a 50's themed diner, "The Pink Poodle." Her untimely illness caused the closing of this dream and was her big regret. Over the years she had many other accomplishments.
In Ogallala, she worked with youth on probation, she served on numerous Congregational Church boards, as a Sunday School teacher, and was a Sunday School Supt.
In Cambridge, she served on the Cambridge City Council, on the state foster care advisory board, she was active in organizing the Country Concert Association and helped to promote over 40 music acts, with one of the highlights being Reba McEntire. She organized and ran a young girl's dance and drill team, The Trojanettes. For 5 years they performed around the Cambridge area and across the state. She was very proud of the accomplishments of these young girls.
In North Platte, she was proud to have built and marketed the butterfly product called "Flutterbies." These were sold on QVC and she was able to introduce them on a live QVC broadcast out of Omaha, NE. She served and was active in the North Platte Original Town Organization and was instrumental in helping with the creation of the Rail Fest Celebration.
She was always a helpmate to her husband and over the 53 years that they shared together, they enjoyed many common interests in music, dancing, movies, garage sales, and auctions. She loved her family and so enjoyed spending time with her great grandsons. She leaves behind many friends and acquaintances that will miss her bright smile and positive, uplifting presence.
Survivors include, husband, Kenneth R. Bible, daughter Rebecca Jo Wrage (Shawn), grandson Brandon D. Fimple (Alexis), Great grandsons Carter, Mason, and Easton Fimple, all of North Platte, sisters, Sally Johnson of Grand Island, Ginger Dunivan (Ernie) of Harviell, MO, and Robyn Cornelius (Harry) of Ogallala, brothers, Jim Johnson (Rhonda) of North Platte and Earl Johnson (Becky) of Scottsbluff, sister-in-law Connie Pawelczak of Chelmsford, MA and brother-in-law Jon Bible (Janis) of Ceresco, aunt, Shirley Wagner (Willis) of North Branch, Minnesota, uncle Dale Seeman of McCook, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
