Dale Eugene Yonker, known to many as Rocky, passed away on September 14, 2026, in North Platte, Nebraska, the community where his life began on September 28, 1957. He was 68 years old.

Born in North Platte, Dale was a son of Eugene Lee and Doris Jean Marie (Hasbrouck) Yonker, whose life was marked by steady work, practical skill, and a generous spirit. He graduated from North Platte High School. He married Cindy Peck with whom he had two boys. Dale built a career in construction that spanned his entire working life. In every chapter of that career, he took great pride in his carpentry work and was excellent at his craft. The things he built stood as evidence of both his ability and his dedication, and those who knew his work understood the care he brought to it.

Dale was also known for the kind of character that leaves a lasting impression. He was perpetually a jokester and loved to make people laugh. He would help anybody that asked, and his generosity was a defining part of who he was. Dale was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Husker fan.

He is survived by his sons, Jeromie (Lisa) Yonker and William “Billy” Yonker. He is also survived by his siblings, Deb Hilderbrand of North Platte, Dona (Tim) Kreutzer of Kearney, and Deanna Saner of Kearney. He also leaves behind a cherished and growing family in his grandchildren, Esme, Madison, Joey, Cari, Breanna, Clay, Haley, Hunter, Haylen, Hayze, and Jordee, and his great-grandchildren, Kortez, Mateo, Azalea, and Abeline. The love of his family, and the place he held within it, will remain a lasting part of his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Jocelynn, and by his brother-in-law, Dan Saner.

Dale will be remembered as a hardworking man, a gifted carpenter, and a person whose generosity came naturally. Those who knew him well, will remember him as a jokester, an outdoors enthusiast, and an all-around great guy. 

There will be a Celebration of Life at The Rock Church, Saturday September 19th at 11:00am. All are welcome in casual or Husker attire.
