Dallas P. Houchin, 66, of North Platte, passed away December 16, 2014 at Great Plains Health. He was born January 26, 1948 at North Platte to Cecil and Sylvia (Wood) Houchin. Dallas attended North Platte High School and later was united in marriage to Linda Castor. He worked for his father-in-law at Castor Painting for a number of years and moved to Oak Creek, CO in 1979 and was employed by Barbee Painting. Dallas later owned and operated Houchin Painting. He returned to North Platte in 2010. Dallas loved working on racecars, fishing, camping, boating, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Linda, children, Jerry (Jen) Houchin, Jeffrey (Dana) Houchin, Terry Houchin, Tammy (Brad) Betts, and Terri Lynn (Jamie) Jones, sisters, Carolyn (Ron) Diedel and Rhonda VanHoutan, grandchildren, Dallas, Tony, William, Kayla, Ryleigh, Nate, and Austin Houchin, Tyler and Cortney Enger, Devon Larsen, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Glenda Houchin. Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 22, 2014 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9 am to 5pm Sunday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel which is in charge of arrangements.
