Dana Renae Howell, 64, of North Platte, NE passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Linden Court after many years battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born on September 4, 1959 in North Platte, NE the daughter of Danny and Willa (Hall) Booth.
Dana graduated from North Platte High School in 1977 and attended Kearney State for 1 year. For most of her career she worked as a bookkeeper. On September 14, 1996, she was united in marriage to Layne L. Howell at Lake Maloney in North Platte. She enjoyed living at the lake, water skiing and boating, as well as her corvette sports car.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother and stepfather, Willa and Lowell Fenster of North Platte; stepbrother, Bob (Stephanie) Fenster of Omaha; cousins, Lori Boyle of Boise, ID, Mary Jo (Troy) Smith of Portland, OR, Teri VanCleave of Lincoln, and Steve Boyle of Omaha and Brad Schell.
She was predeceased by her husband, Layne; and father, Danny Booth.
Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Emily McCreery officiating. Inurnment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National VA Cemetery, near Maxwell. The memorial book will be available to sign on Thursday, June 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church.
