Daniel James Nisley, age 42, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Great Plains Health.
Daniel was born on May 14, 1983 and adopted by James and Shirley (Weskamp) Nisley of North Platte, NE. Daniel graduated from North Platte High School then went on to receive his associates as an electrician from Mid-Plains Community College. He worked as an electrician for Parker in McCook, worked as an assistant manager for Time Saver and worked for Mike Baker security systems.
In his youth Daniel was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed all the activities the program taught him. He had a great sense of humor and remained a kid at heart, was good natured and an animal lover. Tiger, his 18-year-old, beloved cat will miss him dearly. Daniel loved and excelled in martial arts, which was his passion. He held 3 black belts, was a martial arts instructor at Top Tier and co-instructed with Dennis Godbey.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Anita Nisley, Otto and Virginia Weskamp, and his uncle Lynn Weskamp.
Daniel is survived by his son, Allen James Nisley of North Platte, NE; parents, James and Shirley Nisley of North Platte, NE, sister, Kelli Nisley of North Platte, NE, nephews, Jonathan Arbogast, Logan Hanson, niece, Rosie (Patrick) O’Neill, Aunts, Karen Long and Ellen Stahla, cousins, Nathan (Stephanie) Jenkins, Meghan (J. Michael) Sirochman, Chistopher (Molly) Long, and numerous other family members and friends.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Noth Platte Cemetery. A Rosary will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to the Boy Scouts of America.
Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
