Obituary

David Allen Conole, a cherished husband and devoted friend, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, in North Platte, Nebraska, just shy of his 77th birthday. Born on May 20, 1949, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, David’s life was marked by service, commitment, and genuine warmth that endeared him to many.

David graduated from high school in Massachusetts before answering the call to serve his country. Following graduation, he joined the Air Force, where he dedicated four years stationed in Pakistan. Subsequently, he was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. After his honorable military service, he pursued further education in Construction Engineering at a trade school, equipping himself for a meaningful civilian career.

In 1970, David married Anna Grow on January 31 in Omaha. Together, they built a life rooted in love and partnership. Following their time in Omaha, they moved to North Platte, Nebraska. There, David worked diligently for the United States Postal Service, where his commitment and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on colleagues and the community alike.

David was an ardent animal lover and found joy in spending time fishing in the ocean, a pastime close to his heart. He also enjoyed following sports passionately. Among his personal favorites in nature were the hosta flower and the majestic Red Bud tree, both cherished symbols that reflected his gentle and resilient spirit.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Conole of North Platte, who stood by his side through all the years they shared. David was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Eleanor Jane Coppits; his sister, Alice Powers; and his half-brother, Joseph “Joey.”

A memorial service to honor David’s life will be held on May 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, located at 1616 W B Street in North Platte, Nebraska. Following the memorial, his inurnment will take place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
