IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dawn Denise
Anderson
November 19, 1954 – December 17, 2025
Dawn Denise Anderson, 71, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in North Platte.
Dawn was a woman whose presence felt like comfort. She was gracious, deeply caring, and endlessly loving, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel welcome, accepted, and understood. If you were lucky enough to be loved by Dawn, you knew what unconditional love felt like.
She was born on November 19, 1954, in Ayer, Massachusetts, to Harlod & Elsie (St. Martin) Walker. After high school, Dawn moved to New York, where her life as a mother began. She married Louis Marrone Jr. on August 3rd, 1974, in Millbrook, NY, and together they welcomed two children, Monica and Louie.
After Louis's passing, Dawn moved to Colorado, where life brought her another great love when she met Tim Anderson. They were married on February 14, 1987. Shortly after the birth of their daughter, Melody, the family made their home in North Platte, Nebraska, where Dawn put down deep roots and built a life centered around love, laughter, and caring for others.
Dawn worked as a supervisor with the Department of Health and Human Services, a role that fit her heart perfectly. She was always willing to help, always listening, always showing up. Outside of work, she loved camping and spending time outdoors, but more than anything, she loved being with the people she cared about.
Dawn always smiled at you—always. She carried a light in her eyes that made you feel seen and believed in. She had a deep, unshakable faith in the people she loved, a quiet certainty that you could do anything. That belief alone lifted others more than she probably ever knew.
She had a gift for humor and timing, knowing exactly what to say to make you laugh when life felt heavy. Her laughter was shared freely with her children and grandchildren, creating moments of joy, peace, and connection. Dawn held space for others without judgment. You could talk to her about anything, and she would meet you with warmth, understanding, and often a gentle joke that helped you see yourself with kindness.
She felt like the warmest embrace. A reminder that joy, humor, and love remain with us, even as life carries us through both sorrow and beauty.
May her transition be peaceful.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband, Tim Anderson; her children, Monica Marrone of North Platte, Louie (Erica) Marrone of San Diego, CA, and Melody Anderson of San Antonio, TX; and her grandchildren, Sophia Marrone of North Platte, and Norah and Silas Marrone of San Diego, CA, and her soul-sister Seanna Collins of North Platte. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Tam Walker, niece Lindsey (Tyler) Martindill; Stephanie Schmalz and Lindsay Schmalz; and many other family members and friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elsie Walker, and several brothers and sisters, including Jeff Walker and Lonnie Walker.
A memorial service will be held for Dawn on Saturday, December 27th at 10:30 am at Carpenter Memorial, 1616 W B Street, North Platte, NE
