Dennis E. Lyons, 78, of North Platte, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024 at Great Plains Health.

He was born on January 26, 1946 in Seattle, Washington, the son of Gene and Doris (Greene) Lyons.

On July 25, 1986, Dennis was united in marriage to Joan E. Beran.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  Dennis worked as a truck driver for most all of his career until retirement.

Dennis was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Eagles and Moose Club.

He is survived by daughter, Wendy Lyons; son, Josh Beran; sister, Jan (Jerry) Raborn; sister in law, Susan (Tim) Keith; brothers in law, David Beran and Thomas (Elsa) Beran; many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Beran) Lyons; parents, Gene and Doris Lyons; sisters in law, Gayle Beran, and Ruth Cox; brother-in-law, Tim Keith; and nieces, Michelle Ryan, and Ashley Perkins.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2024 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kadaprayil as celebrant.  Burial with military honors will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, near Maxwell.  Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
