Dennis Jean Nicholas was born on March 20, 1943, to Delbert and Edis (Eckhoff) Nicholas. He graduated from Hershey High School with the class of 1961. Dennis started farming before he was out of school and up until he was 81 years old, when illness forced him to retire.

Dennis met his future wife at the Lincoln County Fair. He married Bonnie Jean Gibbs on July 12, 1963, in North Platte, NE, and were married for 61 years. God blessed them with 2 children; Cheri Nicholas and James Nicholas.

Dennis is preceded in death by his daughter, Cheri Nicholas; parents; and a sister, Frances Grandy and nephew Marc Kaschke.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; son, James (Mindy) Nicholas of Hershey, NE; grandchildren, Mira White, Olivia Nicholas and William Nicholas; sister, Mary (Orville) Kaschke of North Platte; brother, Charles (Claire) Nicholas of Alvord, Texas; nieces, Brenda Granger, and Tami Kaschke; nephews, Harold, Brian Grandy and Brad Nicholas.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Harvest Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery near Hershey. Visitation will be on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel from noon to 7:00 p.m.

Please Honor Denny by dressing casually as he was not a fan of dressing up. Flowers die, so instead of flowers please give to a charity of your choice so your gift lives on. Denny liked to give to St. Jude's to help children.
