Dennis Bruce Walther, age 73, of Curtis, Nebraska passed away on June 11, 2025, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.  On May 28, 1952, Dennis was born to Willard "Cotton" and Lila "Toots" (Metcalf) Walther in Eustis, Nebraska.

Dennis was raised in the rural town of Curtis, graduating from Medicine Valley High School in 1970.  Immediately following graduation, Dennis enlisted into the United States Army, serving four years, and in the Vietnam War.  While home from the military for a short time, on August 14, 1971, Dennis married Carol Ann Halley in Eustis.  The couple welcomed three children into the world- Steven, Clint, and Julie.  After being honorably discharged from the military, Dennis began his lifelong career of truck driving- working for Allen Mitchek Trucking and Richard Broils Trucking before driving as a self-employed trucker. Dennis returned to Nebraska in 1986, where he resided for the remainder of his life. He retired in 2017 while employed by Frontier County.

Dennis was a light-hearted man who never took anything too seriously. He loved his truck driving career and riding his Harley-Davidson. Dennis was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to anyone who came into his life. He was known to throw out a few jokes every now and then and could spot a pretty lady from miles away. He had a love for KFC, where they knew him by name.

Dennis is survived by his children, Steven (Darla) Walther of Stockville, Clint (Kerri) Walther of North Platte, Julie (Brian) Brownell of Burwell; grandchildren, Jordan (Molly) Walther of Omaha, Jace (Hailey Fleming) Walther, Cameron (Arlana) Walther, Cole (Shelby) Walther, Caitlyn (Udell Hughes) Walther, all of North Platte, Akilah (Justin) Ellingson of Omaha, Kaden (Brooklyn Douglas) Ross of Gretna, Cory Brownell of Norfolk, and Kelli Brownell of Burwell; great grandchildren, Clay & Clint Walther, Udell Thomas, Udell Griffin, and Udell Bridger Hughes; Jensen Ellingson; siblings, Elwyn Walther of Iliff, CO, Sheryl Fisher of Irrigon, OR, Debra Clinesmith of Curtis, Hugh (Kathy) Walther of Springdale, AR; several other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jerry Fisher; and sister-in-law, Margaret Walther.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the Moorefield Cemetery at Moorefield, Nebraska.  Visitation will be on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 12 PM to 7 PM with family present from 5 PM to 7 PM at Carpenter Memorial Chapel which is coordinating arrangements.
