Donald (Don) Jerry Yoshida Sr., of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on September 13, 2026, in North Platte. He was born on June 7, 1940, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Don grew up and attended school in Scottsbluff. He met and married Audrey Moet, they had two children together, daughter Kimberly and son Allan

.He met Bonnie Reed and they married on December 19, 1959 in Hot Springs, SD. To this union two sons were born, Donald Jerry Jr. and David.

 Don worked the in the petroleum industry his entire career. The couple moved to North Platte in 1964 with the Petroleum Construction Co. Inc. and bought the business in 1979. Don was a hard worker and encouraged that work ethic from all who worked with him. He retired in 2002.

After his retirement he loved to travel and often took his grandchildren on vacation with him. He loved the Black Hills. Don was known for having an infectious laugh and always had a smile.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and his grandson Jeremiah.

His family includes his daughter, Kimberly Rupp, and her husband, Ernie, of Sturgis, South Dakota; his sons Allan Yoshida and his wife, Christy, of Exira, Iowa; and Jerry Yoshida and his wife, Serena, and David Yoshida and his wife, Lori, all of North Platte. He also leaves behind a large and loving group of grandchildren: Christine, Curtis, Thomas, Ana, James, Amanda, Forrest, Cassandra, Brandy, DJ III, Drew, Christina, Shelby and Dodge. His legacy continues in his great-grandchildren, Wyntr, Delanee, Trinity, Mavis, Maddox, Raya, Daxten and Tace.

Those who gather to remember Don will carry forward the love of a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose family formed the heart of his life. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will remain a lasting part of the lives he touched.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, 1616 W B St, North Platte, Nebraska, with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to meet friends. A Funeral service with be held on Friday, September 18 at 2:00PM at the Episcopal Church, 203 West 4th Street, North Platte.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Episcopal Church.
