Obituary for Doris Elaine Fox

Doris Elaine (Kelley) Fox, age 95, of North Platte, NE, passed away on July 4, 2025 at North Platte Care Center.

Born on October 20, 1929, she was the daughter of Glenn A. and Helen (Montgomery) Kelley near Seymour, IN at the home of her grandmother.

She grew up near Seymour, IN, and graduated in 1947 from Shields High School in Seymour. Doris married Hubert M Fox on October 11, 1952 at Reddington Christian Church in Reddington, IN.

Doris worked for Cummins in Columbus IN until just before Brenda was born. In 1966 they moved to Woodridge, IL, and helped build a new church in Naperville, IL.  The family moved to North Platte in 1971.  The couple helped build Valley Christian Church's current building. In 1980 the couple moved to Lincoln, NE where they lived until Hubert's death in 2014. Then Doris returned to North Platte to be near her children. She was a devoted mother and wife. Doris was very social and loved belonging to various groups such as Bible studies, being a campfire leader, an active bowler in several leagues, and she enjoyed researching genealogy and photography.

Those left to cherish her memory are her 4 children Brenda Robinson, Mike (Peggy) Fox, Christine (Robert) Nelson and Candice (Tracy) Fox-Martinez all of North Platte, NE; 14 grandchildren Jennifer, Tyler (Emily), Bradley and Colby Robinson; Travis (Jennifer) and Matthew (Sara) Fox; Benjamin (Patty Jo) Pease, Kelley Enriquez, Brendan (Mallory Liewer) Nelson, Jesse Nelson, Danielle McNulty; Jacqueline (Chanse) Tabke, Vanessa Martinez, and Talia Martinez; 19 great grandchildren Roark, Ellis, and Meier Robinson; Abbey, Grace, Madison, Bethany and Troy Fox; Felicity (Jeron Seimer) Edwards, Marcus Pease, Elena Enriquez, Isabella and Phoenix White; Jada, Aurora, Althea, and River Nelson; Skye and Hazel Tabke; 1 great-great grandchild Junie Seimer; a brother-in-law Jim Glasson of Seymour, IN; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, an infant brother Dale Kelley, 2 sisters Marilyn Glasson and Joyce (Robert) Montgomery, grandson Mark Pease, son-in-law Cal Robinson, and in-laws Benjamin and Nellie Fox.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday July 11, 2025 at Valley Christian Church with Pastor Joel Miller officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday July 10, 2025 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, with the family in attendance from 5:00 to 7:00. Memorials may be made to Valley Christian Church.
