Dorothy Jane Simants, 83, of Brady, NE passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at her home.

Dorothy was born on November 18, 1939 in Lincoln, NE the daughter of Earl Edward and Margaret Jane (Beatty) Morgan.  She attended Washington grade school and graduated from North Platte High School in 1958 and later the North Platte Beauty Academy.  She became a licensed beautician in the state of NE.  On August 16, 1966 she married Lawrence Raymond Simants and together they had three sons.  Dorothy attended the First Presbyterian church while living in North Platte.  She enjoyed crocheting and sewing as well as raising chickens.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Steven Simants of Seward, Scott (Becky) Simants of Gothenburg, and Larry Simants of Gothenburg; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; brothers, Robert and Edward Morgan; daughter-in-law, LaRee; and grandparents, Robert and Ethel Beatty.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Fort McPherson National VA Cemetery near Maxwell with Pastor Emily McCreery officiating.  Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
