Edward E. Henry, 87, of North Platte, NE passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Linden Court surrounded by his wife and family.

Ed was born on August 29, 1935 in Cambridge, NE the son of Russell William and Laura Jane (Eaton) Henry. He married Carolyn K. Bockus on August 13, 1953 in Grand Island, NE and together they had 3 sons. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War from 1954-56.  He also served in the National Guard and the Army Reserves.  Ed worked for most of his career with the Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician, retiring in 1997 after 44 years of service.  He owned and operated Ed's TV repair service for several years. Then he and Carolyn owned Valley Hi Ceramics.  Ed was a member of the American Legion for 42 years and the Flatlander Car Club, where he loved showing his restored antique 59' Ford Galaxy 500.  He was an avid NASCAR fan, coin collector, and enjoyed traveling to concerts and casinos along with his wife.

Those left to cherish Ed's memory are his wife of 69 years, Carolyn; sons, Rick Henry (Ronnie Sunnycalb, Jr.) of Denver, CO, Randy Henry (Becky) of Bloomfield, NM, and Rob Henry (Mary) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; grandchildren, Lindsay Perry (Troy), Courtney Fodor (Tony), Aspen Henry, and Aaron Henry; step-grandchildren, Cristina Hilker (Shane), John Richendifer (Kayla), Steven Richendifer, and William Richendifer; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Reece, and Drew Perry, and Talen Fodor; step-great-grandchildren, Caylee and Christian Conour, Sylvia and Shane Hilker, and Leonidas Richendifer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by siblings, Rusty Henry, Billy Beganics, Peggy Pitts, Bobby Dean Henry, and Alfie Erickson.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the family for future designation.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with his nephew, Steve Thomlison officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Veterans Cemetery near Maxwell.  A visitation and book signing will be held on Sunday, November 13 ^th with the family receiving friends from 2-4 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
