Elaine "Sis" Smith, 90, of North Platte, NE passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 in Springview, NE.  Elaine was born on December 14, 1932 in Hershey, NE the daughter of Floyd A. and Elsie (Fransen) Leonhardt.  She was raised in the North Platte area, graduating from North Platte High School with the class of 1949.  She married LeRoy Smith on June 22, 1950.  He preceded her in death on August 13, 1998.  She married George "Bill" Smith on October 21, 2002.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Leonhardt; stepsons, Monte K. Smith and Michael E. Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Bill; stepson, Terry (Lynda) Smith; six step-grandchildren and six step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

It was Elaine's wish to be cremated with no visitation or memorial service.  Her cremains will be buried at a later date in North Platte Cemetery.  Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
