Elmer "Jr" Schwenk,
He was born April 12, 1935 to Elmer Schwenk and Helen Kee in Hamlet Nebraska. He married Patricia Ann O'Brien on September 27, 1957. In September of 2014 they celebrated 57 years of marriage. They welcomed their one and only daughter Danella Jo Schwenk on January 12, 1960. Jr held many jobs including Standard Oil, Sone's International and Larry's Radiator Sales and Service, where he retired at the age of 65. He enjoyed wood working, gardening and being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Helen Schwenk;his loving daughter, Danella Jo Schwenk; two brothers, Gene and Robert Schwenk; a sister in law, Lila Schwenk; and two brother in laws, Jack and Danny O'Brien. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Schwenk; his two granddaughters, Emily (Kyle) Norman of Lincoln and Lane (Jeremiah) Callaghan of Central City; his great grandchildren, Andrew Bryant, Addysen Bryant, Jakson and Jase Callaghan and Kaiden and Lexie Norman; two brothers, Paul and Edgar Schwenk; a sister, Cora Ann Wood; his brother in law, Garland Wood; three sister in laws, Barb Schwenk, Alene O'Brien and Liz Schwenk; and a number of nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday, May 4, 2015 at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Sunday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Online condolences maybe shared at www.carpentermemorial.com
