Eugene Allen Stadler, 91 of Gothenburg, NE went to be with his Lord and Savior, April 14, 2025. Gene was born May 12, 1933, in Minden, NE to Rufus and Mildred Stadler.

Gene grew up in Hastings, NE and graduated from Hastings High School in 1951. He married his high school sweetheart, Ardys Kistler, who was the love of his life.  Gene enlisted in the Air Force and after serving in Korea, he was stationed in Minot, ND with Ardys.  After his honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1956, they moved to Denver, CO where their first two children, Deb and Mark were born.  Gene decided to go to Hastings College shortly after Mark was born, and after graduating, he began his long career with the Social Security Administration.  He was moved to Grand Island, NE for his first assignment, and it was in Grand Island where their third child, Lisa, was born.  Shortly after that, they moved to North Platte, NE which would be the place that they would always call home. He retired in 1995 and began his second career as a Long -Term Care Insurance specialist for Phares Financial Services. He loved his clients and really enjoyed the interactions he had with them and his co-workers.

Gene was a member of First Baptist Church in North Platte, and he was very involved in many different ministries from teaching Sunday School to being President of the Church.  He loved his faith, and it was a huge part of who he was.  He loved to sing, and He and Ardys sang in many weddings, funerals and other events.  He was also a member of the Noon Rotary Club and past member of Buffalo Bill Kiwanis. He served on numerous civic boards and committees as well. He and Ardys also loved to travel, and they were able to go on many memorable trips with their good friends, Bob and Margene Phares.  They also traveled to many "sister" reunions with Ardys's sisters: Maxine (Kenneth) Gardner, Dolores (Bob) Runcie, and Karen (Butch) Brown.

Gene loved his family, and they always loved being around him and listen to his many stories of the "old" days.  He was a great storyteller and family historian.  He was very proud of his family heritage from Norway.  He loved his Nebraska Cornhuskers, hunting, fishing and playing games.

One of Gene's greatest pleasures was taking care of his beloved Ardys for the past 10 years or so.  They lived the last two years at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg, NE.  He always raved about how well he and Ardys were treated and of course, how good the food was!

Gene is survived by his wife; Ardys Stadler, daughter: Deb(Mark) Stone, son: Mark(Laurie) Stadler, daughter: Lisa Stadler, grandsons: Parker(Vanessa Ballard) Stone, Sam (Darcy) Stone, Thomas(Sarah) Stadler, granddaughter: Nicole(Tony) Klein, great-grandsons: Daniel Stadler, JohnMark Klein, great-granddaughters: Olivia Stadler, Jane Stadler, Regina Stadler, Catherine Klein and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gene was proceeded in death by his father: Rufus Stadler, mother: Mildred Stadler, brother: Duane.

Funeral Service will be on Friday April 25, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Pastors Kem Reeder, Greg Mamula  co-officiating, Visitation will be on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from noon until 7:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
