Eunice Mae Masters, 90, of North Platte, NE passed away September 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 9, 1930 at her grandparents' home in Denmark, NE (in Lincoln County south of Maxwell) to Ralph and Irene (Thomsen) Gutherless. She grew up south of Maxwell and graduated from high school in Curtis, NE.
Eunice was united in marriage to Hollis Masters on March 26, 1948. After which the couple lived on various farms and ranches and then bought her folks place in Cottonwood Canyon. Through the years, five children were added to the family. They moved to North Platte in 1991 and lived at Lake Maloney. Prior to Hollis' death, they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Although her main occupation was housewife, she also was a teacher, bus driver, cook and seamstress. She was a member of Maywood Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; son-in-law, Bob Rudloff; grandson, Brent Masters; granddaughter, Pam (Rudloff) Sommers; and sister, Cleona Douglas.
Eunice is survived by her son, Bruce (Maxine) Masters of Tulsa, OK; daughters, Nancy (Fred) Russell of Gordon, NE, Patricia (Mike) Reynolds of Maxwell, NE, Gwen Rudloff of North Platte, NE, Brenda (Rod) Thayer of Champion, NE; sisters, Lucille Meyer of Scottsbluff, NE and Bunny (Floyd) Bokoskie of North Platte, NE.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and 2 sisters-in laws; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, John and Lindee Doyle.
Viewing and book signing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. A Private Family Graveside Service will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
