Evelyn L. Griego, 60, of North Platte, NE formerly of Amarillo, TX passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.

She was born on September 15, 1961 in Mountainair, New Mexico the daughter of Antonio Fabian Griego and Carmen (Pena) Griego.

Evelyn graduated from Mountainair High School in 1980.  She was married on December 5, 2003 to Steve Sauer.  She worked for the Department of Health and Human Services and Mental Health department while living in Amarillo, TX, and was a secretary/receptionist at Nebraskaland Bank in North Platte.  Evelyn was a very spiritual person who prayed often for those in need.  She especially loved horses and spending time with her family and friends.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Evelyn's memory are her husband, Steve; son, Bryan Kayser of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Loretta (Dan) Summers of Canyon, TX and Barbara Griego of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Aubry Pearl, Haileigh Crafton, and Natalee Irish-Kayser; niece, Devin Hayes; nephews, Matthew Paiz and Brandon Summers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a brother, Anthony Griego.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, New Mexico.  Burial will follow in St. Alice Catholic Cemetery. Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
