George Henry
Pell, Jr.
September 19, 1952 – March 26, 2026
George Henry Pell, Jr., a lifelong resident of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on March 26, 2026, in Omaha, NE. Born on September 19, 1952, George was a man marked by quiet strength and dedication, who lived a life grounded in service—both to his country and his community.
A proud graduate of North Platte High School (NPHS), George embarked on his journey of service early in life, enlisting in the United States Army in 1970. Serving as a combat engineer during the Vietnam War, he honorably discharged in 1973. His military service was a testament to his resolve and patriotism, traits that would guide him throughout his life.
After a brief period working with Nebraska Machinery, George chose a path of steadfast commitment by beginning his lifelong career at Walmart. Though private by nature and often reserved, those who knew George recognized his unwavering work ethic and loyalty.
George’s personal interests reflected a love for storytelling and adventure, finding joy in watching movies—especially the Star Wars saga—and engaging in video games. These hobbies were windows into his contemplative and thoughtful character, a private man who found comfort and inspiration in these simple pleasures.
His proudest accomplishments were centered around family. George is lovingly remembered by his son, Seth Pell, who carry forward his legacy. He is also survived by his brothers, Wes and Gary, along with other family members who hold his memory dear.
George was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Aletta. Their memories remain closely held by those who loved him.
