Georgene Isabel Nichols, 93, of North Platte, passed away November 22, 2012 at Centennial Park Retirement Village. She was born Sept. 24, 1919 to George C. and Audrey Josephine (Terry) Holes at Alexandria, NE. In 1936, she graduated from Alexandria High School. On June 16, 1938, she was united in marriage to Howard Martin Nichols at Washington, KS. Georgene was a seamstress from her home and worked at Project and Krispy Krust Bakeries, Gibson's until 1971, then Skaggs-Osco Drug until her retirement in 1986. She loved crocheting and collected dog figurines. She is survived by her children, Charles (Mary Ellen) Nichols of Wittier, CA, Kirk (Vicki) Nichols of North Platte and Terrill (Bonnie) Nichols of Greeley, CO; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, David; a brother, Julian Holes; an infant brother, a sister, Arlene Graul, a infant grandchild, and a daughter-in-law Mary Nichols. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
