Gerald "Jerry" Albert Walker, 73, of Wellfleet, NE passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, CO.  He was born on August 6, 1948 in Emmitt, Idaho son of Ralph and Mary (Verbeck) Walker.

Gerald's father Ralph died at an early age.  He began attending school in Maywood, NE, when his mother Mary remarried Oscar Roethemeyer, moving the family to St. Louis, MO.  Upon completion of high school Gerald joined the U.S. Navy and served his country with two tours of duty in Vietnam in the riverboat patrol group.  Upon his return to civilian life, he worked at the Rocky Flats munition arsenal near Denver for many years.  He married Cindy Crocke and they moved to Nebraska where they operated an electrical business for several years.  He and his wife loved hunting and wildlife conservation, keeping their land in grass to preserve nesting opportunities for pheasant, quail and waterfowl.

Surviving him are his mother Mary Roethemeyer of North Platte; aunt, Darlene Carter of North Platte; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Cindy; father Ralph; and step-father Oscar.

Services are private.
