Gifford Ellis Massie, III, 57, of North Platte, NE passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at his home.

Gifford was born on July 22, 1965 in Denver, CO the son of Gifford E. Massie, Jr. and Darlene R. (Kleinknecht) Massie.  He graduated from Gothenburg High School class of 1983, and attended diesel mechanic trade school in Laramie, WY.  He was hired on the Union Pacific Railroad and worked for over thirty years as a machinist, retiring in January of this year due to his illness.  He was married on October 5, 2007 in North Platte to Alexis Joan Nehman.  He enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing and sailing.  He was also a ham radio operator with the call sign AAORB.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alexis; children, Jackie (Ryan) Anderegg, Jesse (Natalie) Massie, and Nathan (Sam) Massie all of Cheyenne, WY, Adrienne (Andrew) Meyer of Omaha, Tia Massie and Starr Massie both of Highland, MI; 8 grandchildren; sister, Sheila (Milton) Wear of Gothenburg; brother, Tim Massie of Gothenburg, several nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held for Gifford at the Lincoln Highway RV Park on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the family for future designation and to help with final expenses.  Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
