Yoder

Glen Edward Yoder, age 81, of Maxwell, died January 2, 2026 at Great Plains Health. He was born on October 10, 1944 in Denver, CO to Jennie Kraus. He was later adopted by Ralph and Oleta (Clark) Yoder in 1952 and raised in Karval, Colorado.
Glen was drafted into the US Army in September 1968. He did his basic training and AIT (Advanced Infantry Training) in Ft. Lewis, WA and was shipped out to Vietnam as an APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) driver. In March 1969, his APC was hit by an RPG, injuring all four in the vehicle. Glen still carries shrapnel today in his body. He also served as a radio operator during his time in Vietnam. He ended his service in 1970 at Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, CO. Glen was awarded the Purple Heart and the Army Accommodation Medals.
Glen's most recent work career was at NAPA in Imperial, NE, where he retired as a machinist.
Survivors include his wife Dalene of Maxwell; children Tonya (Chandler) Shull, Shawn Yoder, Dawn Willadsen, Jolene (Tony) Muths, Travis Engel, and Opie, and Aron (Amy) Ferguson; siblings, Harold (Linda) Yoder and Joyce Parker; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters Dawn Danekas, and Dana Dell Yoder; and by a wife Sue Bjorke Yoder. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Quilt of Valor program. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 6, 2026 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Baldwin officiating, and military honors following. The register book may be signed Monday 12-5 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
