Ivan D. Nickerson, 79 passed away on November 17, 2020 at Centennial Park Retirement Village. He was born September 15, 1941 to Vern and Veda Nickerson.

Ivan graduated from Maxwell High School with the class of 1959 and in 1960 studied at Luther Junior College. And started the electrical program at Mid Plains and was very passionate about teaching and enjoyed all his students. He retired from Mid Plains.

He was united to Mary McDaniel in 1987.

Ivan enjoyed the outdoors spending time with the grandkids and family especially enjoyed the holiday gatherings and playing jokes.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Layne (Janeen) Nickerson, Jay (Diane) Nickerson; grandchildren; Bryson, Nicole and Dustin; and a great-granddaughter LeLani; brother, Lyle (Judy) Nickerson; son, David (Tracy) Allis; grandchildren, Emily and Jacob.

Graveside services with with Pastor Tim Lyzenga of the First Baptist Church, Maxwell, NE officiating will be at 11 a.m Monday, January 11, at Plainview Cemetery, Maxwell, NE. Services will be held following all current health directives regarding Covid-19. The service will be livestream via Carpenter Memorial Chapel Facebook page.

Memorials may be made to the family for later designation. Services will be at a later date. Book signing will be from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.Monday and Tuesday November 23 and 24, 2020 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.   Carpenter Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
