Obituary

Jacqueline E. Powell, 66, of Fort Dodge, died January 17, 2015 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home due to complications from cancer.Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Interment will be held in North Platte Cemetery, North Platte, NE on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Jacqueline E. Powell was born September 14, 1949 in Omaha, NE to James A. and Marion L. Reilly. Jacqueline attended schools in Omaha and graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1967. She later received her B.S. degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She was united in marriage to Ray D. Powell in 1976. In Fort Dodge, Jacqueline taught for the Fort Dodge Catholic School System and as an adjunct instructor for Iowa Central Community College, retiring from Iowa Central in 2012. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Des Moines Northeast Restoration Branch. Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Ray D. Powell; her sister Judith E. Rose; aunts and uncle; sisters- and brothers-in law; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the charitable discretion of the family.
