James "Jay" Nickerson, 55, of North Platte, NE passed away on December 26, 2020 at Great Plains Health. He was born to Ivan Nickerson and Marlene Blanchard of North Platte, NE James spent his life in North Platte, NE.

He was united in marriage to Diane Lundy on January 17, 1992. The couple lived in Maxwell and North Platte, NE.

Jay was involved in 4-H and high School sports with his children and enjoyed camping, boating, and outdoor sports with his family and friends and loved "Rock n Roll".

He is preceded in death by his father; Ivan (Ike) Nickerson, and step father, Bruce Blanchard; grandparents; Vern and Veda Nickerson.

Jay is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Nicole and Dustin from North Platte, NE; mother, Marlene Blanchard; step mother, Mary Nickerson; brother, Layne (Janeen) Nickerson; and nephew, Bryson Nickerson.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2020 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gary Smith Officiating.  Burial of ashes will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements. Services will be held following all current health directives regarding Covid-19.
