IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeanette Rose
Thompson
August 31, 1942 – November 12, 2025
Jeanette Rose Thompson passed away at Linden Court on November 12, 2025, at 83 years old. She was born to Clarence and Anna (Neeman) Cropp on August 31, 1942, in Nebraska City, NE.
Jeanette married John Thompson on August 4, 1962, in North Platte, where the couple made their home and raised their children, Annette, Cathy, Carol, and Roger. Jeanette spent over 30 years working for the North Platte Public School system, beginning in the Adams Middle School cafeteria, North Platte High School and retired from Madison Middle School as the cafeteria manager. Cooking was one of her greatest passions, being especially skilled at making the German dishes from her heritage, particularly Runza's. Other great passions were making quilts, Nebraska volleyball, and sewing, with her love and adoration for her grandchildren being her number one joy. Jeanette traveled all over the country to support and cheer on her kids and grandkids as they grew and played various sports. She was the always positive, always supportive, and always strong mother and grandmother that her family aspired to be like. Her advice was often sought out by many, especially the several friends she made throughout her stay at Linden Court. She also became a well-respected leader by not only the other residents, but by the staff as well.
Jeanette will be missed by many including her children, Annette (John) Shafer, Cathy (Tom) Reed, Carol Lilly, and Roger (Kelly) Thompson; grandchildren, Kyle Thompson, Alex Thompson, Heather (Adam) Cummings, Ashley (Kyle) Boysen; great grandchildren; her extended family at Linden Court; many other family friends and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; brother, Arvin Cropp; sister, Deloras Barton; a granddaughter and grandson.
