Josie Lee Willingham was born on July 4, 1923 to Rebus Willingham and Ruth Heard in Wedowee, Alabama. She worked hard in cotton mills, sewing factories and taking care of the elderly and disabled after she retired. She married George F. Bolt and three children were born to that union. Josie and George later divorced and she married Jerry Allen McDaniel in 1967 and became step mother to Paula and David. She lived her life throughout eastern Alabama, San Antonio, Texas and overseas in Okinawa. She moved to Nebraska in 2008 to live with oldest granddaughter and surprisingly she loved the snow. She had a stroke in 2014 and resided at Sutherland Care Center until the time of her death on September 28, 2018. Josie is preceded in death by her parents, brother Charlie Willingham, both husbands, all three natural children Effie Ruth (aka Frankie) Rasmussen, Jerry F. Bolt, and Eugene Bolt who died as a young child, and grandson David Bolt. Josie is survived by her brother Olen Yates and his family of Alabama, nephew Jimmy Willingham of Alabama, step children Paula McDaniel Malone and David McDaniel both of Mississippi, as well as grandchildren Edward Rasmussen of Montana, Ann Rasmussen of Nebraska, Joette Rasmussen Shaw of Nebraska, and Eugene Rasmussen of South Dakota, Jennifer Bolt Williams of Alabama and Leslie Bolt Bolin of Alabama. She has 19 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. She was close to numerous cousins as well. Josie enjoyed her life where ever she lived and made new friends as well. She lived her life until the end just as she was born. A little Firecracker. A private family service will be held at a later date.
