Karen R. Marshall, 73, of North Platte, NE formerly of Cozad, NE passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at home.

Karen was born on August 13, 1949 in Lexington, NE the daughter of Dennis J. and Ruby C. (Peden) Schmeeckle.

She was raised and grew up in Cozad and graduated from Cozad high school.  She was married on September 22, 1969 to Raymond E. Marshall and together they had one daughter.  She loved sewing, bird watching, gardening, and reading.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sondra Marshall of North Platte; and half-sister, Arleda (Rich) White of Bridgeport.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; brother, Lenis Schmeeckle; sister, Kleone Rowe; and half-sister, Lavieta Cundiff.

A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Fort McPherson National Veterans Cemetery near Maxwell.  Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
