Katherine Lena Rosa (Baltz) Snow, 87, of North Platte, passed away Feb. 12, 2014 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. Katherine was born July 22, 1926 in Columbus, OH to George Nelson Baltz and Clara Rosena (Daum). She attended Ohio State University and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She joined the Women's Army Corp (WAC) as a Nurse Cadet in June of 1950 where she met her now ex-husband Marvin Kent Snow (divorced in 1978). She was Honorably Discharged from the Army in 1951 to raise her family. As an Army wife she lived in France 3 different times and Indianapolis, IN for 4 years. They moved to Colorado in 1960 where she resided until 2002 when she moved to North Platte, NE. Katherine worked at the Guest House on Fitzsimmons Army Base for a while but most of her working career was a keypuncher for Blue Cross- Blue Shield of Colorado. Surviving Katherine are 5 children, 4 Daughters; Crystal Godsey (ex-husband Randy) and Patricia Snow of Colorado, Holly Mote (Jon) of Arizona, and Wendy Snow of Alaska. One son: Tracy Snow (September Webb) of North Platte, Nebraska. 6 Grandchildren: Devona Kelly and Desiree Godsey of CO, Christine Brides (Trejo), and Cherie Brides (Goodson) of AZ, and Kyle Snow of North Platte, NE. 3 Step-grandchildren; Crystal Webb, Dawn VanMeter and Craig VanMeter of North Platte, NE. 6 great grandchildren, 9 step-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters; Betty Jean Baltz and Margaret Clara Baltz, and one brother; Junior Nelson Baltz.
