Obituary

Kathleen A. “Kitty” Vogel, 79, of Arnold, Nebraska, passed away on October 8,

2026, at the Callaway Good Life Center in Callaway, Nebraska.

Kitty was born on November 17, 1946, at the Arnold Hospital in Arnold,

Nebraska, to Lawerence and Doris (Shields) Lynch. She and her twin sister,

Katherine “Kathy” Ann, were a surprise — the hospital had only one incubator,

and family lore holds that the Arnold High School shop class hurriedly built a

second.

After graduation, Kitty attended beauty school in Kearney, Nebraska, and

eventually returned to Arnold, where she opened her own business, Kitty’s

Boutique. She absolutely loved working and interacting with her clients there.

In time, her health prevented her from continuing the business, and she

focused on raising her sons, always staying busy and working hard.

In 1972, Kitty married Billy Joe Vogel in Broken Bow, Nebraska. They shared

54 years of marriage, farming in western Custer County and raising their

family near Arnold. Bill preceded her in death on March 17, 2026. In her final

months, Kitty lived at Callaway Good Life Center in Callaway.

She is survived by her sons, Larry (Debbra) Vogel of Waller, Texas, and Kiley

Vogel of Arnold, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Edward (Bridget) Stuart,

Brandon (Victoria) Vogel, Charles (Hannah) Vogel, Ben (Thasha) Vogel,

Christa (David) Knowles, Rainy Vogel, and Waylon Vogel; Eileen Vogel, mother

of Rainy and Waylon; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to Bill Vogel, she is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters,

Karolyn Duponcheel, her twin, Katherine “Kathy” Lynch, and Linda Kastens;

and an infant brother, Ronnie Lynch. Kitty was the last surviving of the Lynch

sisters.

A memorial luncheon will be held on Friday, November 27, 2026, at 12:00

noon at the Arnold Community Center in Arnold, Nebraska. Memorial

contributions are suggested to Arnold EMS. Arrangements are by Carpenter
