Kay M. Keith, 59, of North Platte, NE formerly of Maxwell, NE passed away to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Linden Court following many years of her courageous battle with M.S.
Kay was born on June 28, 1965 in North Platte, NE the daughter of Allen LeRoy and Gloria Etta (Law) Ruppert. She attended school and grew up in Maxwell, NE and graduated from Maxwell Public Schools in 1983. She married the love of her life Jeffrey Grant Keith on December 7, 1983 in North Platte and together they had a daughter Sonja and a son Jeremiah. She worked for the Maxwell public school system, first in the custodial staff and then as a para for over 14 years. Some of her most joyous moments of life were impacting the lives of her students. Throughout Kay's illness she remained strong in her faith and lived life to the fullest. Kay enjoyed planting and growing flowers, as well as feeding and watching birds. She especially loved being a grandma to her four precious grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Kay's memory are her mother, Gloria Ruppert of Gothenburg; children, Sonja (D.J.) Miller of Maxwell, and Jeremiah (Kayla) Keith of North Platte; grandchildren, Paisley and Mason Miller, Julian and Jaxtyn Keith; sisters, Melanie (Sam) Boon of Henderson, Jadeen (Seth) Kucera of Maxwell, Doreen (Troy) Pedersen of Maxwell, and Coleen (Dave) Ragland of Savannah, MO; brother, Chuck Ruppert of Maxwell; in laws, Grant and Joyce Keith of Maxwell; sister in law, Joni Keith and son Jesse; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Allen; and husband, Jeff.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeffrey Jensen officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation with the family receiving friends will be held on Sunday, October 6th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
