IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kelsey Kay
Neal
September 15, 1993 – March 8, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kelsey Kay Neal age 31 on Saturday March 8th, 2025, in her home.
Kelsey was born on September 15, 1993, in Omaha, Ne, with her twin sister, Kylee, who passed away when she was an infant.
Kelsey spent her childhood in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln East High School in May of 2012. Kelsey had a love for pets and especially her dog Molly, and canary Sam. Kelsey played softball every summer until she had her cardiac arrest. She was disappointed when the doctors told her she couldn't play anymore. Kelsey took up clogging and enjoyed that for 4 years. Kelsey played Golf for Lincoln East. Before leaving for college, she took a trip to Colorado with some girls she met in the neighborhood who became fast friends. Anyone who knew Kelsey knows that this was out of her comfort zone. Eventually, she went to college for her bachelor's degree at Wayne State College and proceeded to continue to work hard for her master's degree, graduating from the University of Nebraska-Kearney in counseling. While living and working in Kearney, she met friends along the way that stayed with her until this day. Though it was tricky for her to be away from home, she made many trips back and forth to visit family. After graduating she moved back to Lincoln to be close to the family she loved and welcomed a new member to the family, her beloved dog, Pheobe.
Kelsey loved spending time with her family. She showed us how loving she is, and how amazing it feels to be loved by someone with a heart as big as hers. Especially when her nieces and nephews came in the picture. Not only was she an amazing daughter, granddaughter, sister, and cousin; she then became the world's greatest aunt to her sister, Kristin's kids…Kaylee, Cooper, and Kortney.
Kelsey was a vibrant soul, filled with love, kindness, thoughtfulness, and always one to listen compassionately to anyone who needed to talk. Kelsey enjoyed playing games, cooking, Nebraska Volleyball, a big "Swiftie" fan and of course the many quotes she liked to recite from her favorite show, FRIENDS. But that's a "Moo" Point!
Those left to cherish Kelsey's memory are her parents, Brett & Cindy "King" Neal; sister, Kristin "Neal" (Chris) Chance; nieces, Kaylee and Kortney Chance; and nephew, Cooper Chance; grandparents, Gary and Jerry Neal, Janet King; Uncle, Trent (Sheila) Neal; aunt, Mindy (Brian) Hope; and uncles, Tim (Jody Collins) King, and Mike King; cousins, Kyon and Garrett Neal, Keaton (Harley) Hope and their 2 children, Kameron Hope, John (Stephanie) King and their son, Katie King and her 2 children, Riley King, Patrick (Margaret) Hartman and their 4 children, Chris (Brandy) King and their son.
Kelsey is preceded in death by her twin sister, Kylee; her grandfather, Wayne "Butch" King; her aunt, Brenda King; Great Uncle Dale aunt Joanne Jennings, Brozy and Joyce Wilkins, Darwin Nielsen, Beverly Colburn, Bob and Norma Wright, Karla Wright.
