Kevin W. Pitre, Sr., 71, of Sutherland, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024 at Great Plains Health.

He was born December 27, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY the son of William "Bill" and Alice (Schultz) Pitre.

Following graduation from high school Kevin enlisted in the Navy where he eventually was stationed in CA and met the love of his life, Vivian. They were married on April 25, 1972 and together had three sons, Tony, Kevin Jr., and Justin.  Kevin was a jack of all trades and spent most of his career as a miner.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, camping, gardening, and working out in his yard. Above all he was a family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Alice; wife, Vivian; sister, Cheryl Heckle.

Left to cherish Kevin's memory are his sons, Tony A. (Julie) Pitre, Kevin W. (Laurie) Pitre, Jr. and Justin L. (Tina) Pitre; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister and brother in law, Barbara (Pitre) and Richard Stampfl; brother in law, John Heckle; brother and sister in law, Keith and Kathleen Pitre; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with his nephew, Rev. Javan Hansen officiating.  Visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, November 29th at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
