Kyla Renae Pierson Smith, 31, of Des Moines, IA, formerly of North Platte, passed away October 12, 2017.  She was born Nov. 15, 1985 to Wade and Tami (Smith) Pierson at Grand Island, NE.

She graduated from Iowa City High School in Urbandale, Iowa.  She worked in health care and was also a teacher's aide.

She is survived by her parents, Wade and Tami of Hartford, WI; her daughter, Kaylee Ray; grandparents, Ray and Darlene Pierson and Tressie Smith; great grandmother, Jean McKnight; two step-daughters, Katie and Haley Branchcomb; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Raymond Smith, Sharon Dixon and Rogene Pierson Adams.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Vicar Jay Welsh officiating.  Family will be receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services.  Inurnment will be at a later date.  Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in care of arrangements.
