Lorene L. Dobberstein 92, of Omaha, NE, formerly of North Platte, passed away on April 20, 2016 at her residence. She was born Jan 18, 1924 to Walter and DeEtta Bradley of Kearney, NE. Lorene graduated from high school at the age of 16 and worked 2 years before attending nursing school at Bryan Memorial in Lincoln, NE. She worked as a nurse in Kearney, NE. Lorene married Cole Dobberstein on Feb 1, 1947 in Richmond, CA. Cole and Lorene were from Kearney NE and moved to North Platte, NE in 1975. Lorene was active in Union Pacific Old Timers. She was a member of Moose Lodge and Eagles Club. Survivors include her son, Brad (Peggy) Dobberstein of Edmond, OK; her daughter, Kathie Jordan (Jack) of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Michelle Meyerhoff, Colby Dobberstein, Amy Salsberry, Heath Wadsworth, Todd Dobberstein and Cara Saunders; 13 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Eileen Paine of Kearney, NE, Jackie Mayberry of St Paul, NE and Janet Hartwig of Arlington, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Susan; and granddaughter, Tara. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Douglas A. Delp officiating. Burial will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
