Louise Howard Cox, 93, of North Platte, passed away November 22, 2012 at Linden Court. She was born May 23, 1919 to Louis and Rosa (Hohl) Spohnheimer at Tecumseh, NE. She graduated from Hebron High School as salutatorian of the class of 1936 and then attended Hebron College. On Sept. 24, 1938, she was united in marriage to Woodrow G. Howard at Maxwell. Woodrow preceded her in death in 1968. Louise married James R. Cox in 1973. She was employed by Parisian Cleaners as a clerk for 11 years. She was a resident of North Platte for over 55 years and volunteered over 3000 hours for R.S.V.P. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1977. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Howard Morton of Cozad; her son, James (Paula) Howard of Hyattsville, MD; two grandsons, Mark (Bev) Morton and Scott (Kristine) Morton both of Lincoln; four great- grandchildren, Alli, Tyler, Mallory and Jake; and two step daughters, Virginia Brink and Ellen Andrews. She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; a step brother, Ed Aumick and son-in-law, Jim Morton. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 and 8:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
