Lynn Edwin Riley passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026 at Great Plains Hospital in North Platte, Nebraska. Lynn was born September 12, 1940 at home in Trenton, Nebraska to William Edwin Riley and Grace Harriet Davis Riley.

He graduated from Trenton High School in 1958 and attended the University of Nebraska. Lynn started farming in 1959 with his grandfather, Ned A. Davis—forming a partnership with Riverview Stock Farm, raising Shorthorn cattle. He continued farming and ranching with his son, Deryl, raising quality cattle.

Lynn enjoyed helping others. Every day he wanted to make someone’s day a little easier and brighter. Family and friends were very important to him. His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed farming and livestock production. He enjoyed many cattle shows with his children, grandchildren and friends. It was important to him for everyone to see a great herd of cattle.

Lynn enjoyed woodworking and took several cabinet making classes at North Platte Community College. He enjoyed remodeling their home and making wood projects for his family. His pride and joy was making a grandfather clock from scratch for their home.
