M. Bernice McMichael, 94 of North Platte, passed away October 25, 2012 at Centennial Park Retirement Village. She was born April 17, 1918 at Hershey, Ne to Oscar and Minnie (Palmer) Fransen. She grew up in Hershey and lived there until 1937 and was united in marriage to Clayton Stanley (Mike) McMichael. After moving to North Platte she worked in sales at W. T. Grants,
Ace Hardware, Sweetbriar, and at Kmart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sarah Rebecca Lodge, and the Eagles Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn K. Weddel and special friend Lou Lambdin of Northglenn, CO and Kathy (Larry) Adkisson of North Platte; grandchildren, Debbie K. (Scott) Dawson, Cyndi (Dennis) Perez, Cathie (Bill) McFarren, Lisa (Bob) Lindemeier, Mike (Penny) Adkisson, and Marcus Adkisson; twelve great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; a sister, Helga Freeze; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Minnie Fransen; her husband, Mike; sisters, Ruth Ungles, Elsie Leonhardt, and Grace McMichael; a brother, Art Fransen; a son-in-law, Stan Weddel; a sister-in-law, Ferne Fransen; brothers-in-law, Tad McMichael, Howard Freeze, and Floyd Leonardt. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Wiles officiating. Inurnment will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Cremation was chosen. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so from1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
