Obituary

Marilyn Kay Weddel, 83, passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2022 surrounded by her daughters and partner Lou. Marilyn (Myrtle) was born on 9/15/39 in North Platte Nebraska to Clayton and Bernice McMichael. Marilyn grew up in North Platte and married her high school sweetheart Raymond Stanley Weddel on July 12, 1957. Marilyn and Stan enjoyed a life in the Air Force with many moves and adventures until settling in Fort Collins Colorado in 1968. Marilyn's first love, Stan, died of cancer in October of 1995 with Marilyn and daughters at his side.

Marilyn worked as an office manager for Dr. Nelson Bachus then for Dr. William Self until her retirement. She loved hiking adventures, the outdoors, birds and traveling. She was very active with the Multiple Sclerosis Society in many capacities. These adventures took her to Wyoming, Colorado and Oregon raising awareness. Many MS bike riders will remember her in various costumes cheering them on.

In September of 2001 Marilyn met the second love of her life, Lou Lambdin and the two of them continued on many adventures to include travels to Europe, Costa Rica and Hawaii. With the purchase of their 5th wheel they enjoyed traveling adventures in Colorado and Nebraska. As Marilyn slowed down she enjoyed porch time with Lou and working her word puzzle books.

Marilyn is survived by her partner Louis Carter Lambdin. Her little sister Kathy (Larry) Adkisson. Her three children, Debra (Scott) Dawson, Cynthia (Dennis) Perez and Cathryn (Bill) McFarren. Grandchildren; Heather (Jeff Brannan) Dawson, Charles (Charlee) Dawson, Amber (Rich) Tromke, Amanda (Josh) Delatorre, Jacob (Becky) McFarren, Corrina (Jerimiah) Medina, Kayla Hesse and Sera McFarren. She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on October 14th, 2022 in North Platte, Nebraska at the First Baptist Church at 10am with interment at Fort McPherson to follow at 1pm. Marilyn has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
